'Tis the Season

It's not even Thanksgiving and I've already put my tree up! Crazy, I know but it was really the only time I could do it. I went a little overboard this year with two trees but I love the way my house feels--so warm and cozy! And now I can enjoy the decorations a little longer than a month :)

Happy Fall

Fall is my favorite time of year! And I love decorating my mantel so of course I had to change it up for fall and Halloween. First I did a fall set up but I couldn't wait until October 1st to add my Halloween decor. I found some pumpkins at Target's one spot and added a little something to spruce it up a bit. Super easy!

Fall Decor
 Halloween Mantel
 Original Pumpkin
Use painters tape and tape along the black.
Apply tacky glue to the area inside of the tape
 Cover glue with glitter.
 Remove tape.

Voila, glittered pumpkins!

Strawberry Shortcake Inspired 3rd Birthday Party

I'm finally getting around to posting B's 3rd birthday party. It turned out great and she had a blast. I wasn't planning on doing a big party this year but I just couldn't help myself. I picked the theme around Christmas and the timing was perfect. I was able to get Christmas clearance for 70% and since the colors for Strawberry Shortcake are red, green and pink, it worked perfectly. I bought lots of pinwheels in red and green and just added pink ones later one. Saved tons of money that way.

and now we see what 3 brings...

Floral and Girly Big Girl Room

This project took a little longer than I expected but I'm so happy with the result. I couldn't find any bedding that I loved enough for my daughters room. I didn't want to paint and I wanted to keep her black furniture from her nursery, along with some wall hangings and lamps so I needed to find something that incorporated all those colors. I found one option but it was unavailable so I decided if I can't find what I want, I'm just going to make it. B had this Matilda Jane Platinum top that I fell in love with and it dawned on me that I should try and use that as inspiration for her room. So using her top inspiration I decorated a floral and girly room for my daughter. I added a lot of little personal touches and ended up doing a lot of DIY projects. Scanning the aisles of Micheal's can sometimes be a dangerous thing ;)
